Progress in purchasing practices

ACT (Action, Collaboration, Transformation) is an agreement between 20 global brands and IndustriALL Global Union to pursue living wages for textile and garment workers. They believe that industry-level collective bargaining, supported by freedom of association and responsible purchasing practices, is the most effective way to impact wages.

The 2023 Accountability and Monitoring Report highlights major progress in reshaping purchasing practices in the garments, textiles, and footwear industry. It showcases collaborative efforts among brands and retailers to design, measure, and monitor transformative practices. The ACT Purchasing Practices Surveys for brand employees and suppliers are the largest monitoring tools in this industry, providing visibility into suppliers’ perceptions and informing the measurement of key performance indicators for the five ACT Global Purchasing Practices Commitments agreed upon by signatory brands.

Collaborating closely with ACT’s Head of Operations in Berlin, the challenge was to design 80+ pages of data-intensive reporting. By utilising ACT’s vibrant colour palette, bold layouts and warm illustrations, we designed a very user-friendly report with easily digestible content, along with the shorter Executive Summary.
